4/24 NBA Playoff Preview
Knicks vs. Pistons - The first home playoff game since 2019, when they were swept by the Bucks, and this is the first time they have won in the playoffs since 2008. This should be the loudest building in the NBA this week. I honestly don't see how the Knicks will be ready for it. The Knicks were being out-physicaled the whole time they were in New York, so there need to be changes, and they need to happen very quickly if they think they are going to go into Detroit and get a win. Jalen Brunson needs to stop looking for fouls the whole game.
Thunder vs. Grizzlies - If they lose this game, they will get swept, and the Thunder will get a week of rest because the Clippers and Nuggets are going to go six games at the worst. If the Grizzlies show up, this will be the game in which they show up. For the Thunder, you really can’t say much; they need to keep doing what they are doing. They can go 11 deep if they want to, which is scary come playoff time.
Nuggets vs. Clippers - The best first-round series continues as the nightcap for the evening. For some reason, the NBA put this game on NBA TV instead of TNT, while the Thunder vs. Grizzlies game is on TNT, but that doesn't really matter because I will be tuned in regardless of where the game is being played. Role players always play better at home, so I'm expecting a good shooting night from Bogdanovic and Powell in this one. This will also be a homecoming of sorts for Russell Westbrook, who was with the Clippers last year on a team that made the playoffs and for whom he often got the blame.
